Start pages are nothing new; from generic to domainspecific to customizable.
A personal start page has always been a usefull tool for me to quickly navigate to sites I use frequently. It works independent of the browser I use. My first one was made in html, later with FrontPage, followed by other editors. Nowadays I use Google Sites to create and manage start pages.
